John Duguay proudly represents injured clients who find themselves in difficult circumstances and in need of zealous advocacy. John is well-versed in all aspects of injury litigation. He is dedicated to his clients and passionate about helping them achieve the best possible outcome as they face trying times due to the negligence and wrongful acts of others. 

John first developed his passion for the law as a means to help others during his undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont, where he interned at the Chittenden County Office of the Defender General. Later, while attending the University of Connecticut School of Law, John gained a wide range of experience as an intern at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut; a judicial intern for the Honorable Alfred V. Covello of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut; a summer associate for a defense firm; and, as an intern at the University of Connecticut School of Law Tax Clinic. John also served as an editor of the Connecticut Law Review and member of the Connecticut Moot Court Board. John represented the Moot Court Board at the 2010 University of San Diego National Criminal Procedure Tournament.  

After law school, John worked as assigned counsel for prison inmates challenging the constitutionality of their convictions through habeas corpus petitions. Shortly after relocating to Colorado in late 2015, John joined a personal injury law firm where he handled a wide variety of personal injury cases an associate attorney in multiple different roles. John next joined After Service LLC, a small veterans disability practice, where he represented injured veterans in their claims before the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. John joined The Sawaya Law Firm as a litigation attorney in December 2021!

John currently lives in Denver, CO with his partner, Meryl, and their two young children and Boston Terrier. When he is not in court or preparing cases for trial, he enjoys live music, learning to play hockey and guitar, and spending time with his family.
