School Bus Driver Charged with DUI after Crashing into Ditch

Denver Drunk Driver Accidents Attorneys

A 61-year-old woman is facing charges of driving under the influence and child endangerment after crashing her school bus into a ditch. The accident occurred shortly after dropping off children at her last route stop of the day.

South Carolina Highway Patrol says the incident occurred around 9:10 am Friday just down the road from Hopkins Middle School, the location of her last stop.

Margaret Means, 61

No children were on the bus at the time, and the woman walked away uninjured. However, the woman will still face charges of child endangerment, because police have reason to believe she had been drinking prior to driving the bus full of children. Before the crash, she dropped off both middle school and high school students at multiple stops.

The woman has been released from jail on bond. No information is available whether she has an attorney at this time.
