In Our Community

The Sawaya Law Firm and the Community

At The Sawaya Law Firm, we have built our practice on 12 Core Values, which have been fundamental to the way we operate, and the success of our firm. Service and responsibility are included among those core values, and our attorneys and staff are committed to giving back to the community in which we live and practice.

The Sawaya Law Firm Free Cab Ride Program

In the tradition of promoting responsible driving and keeping our streets safe, the firm sponsors a Free Holiday Cab Ride program over major recognized holidays including:

  • 4th of July weekend
  • Halloween
  • St. Patrick’s Day
  • Winter Holiday Season (late Nov. to Jan. 2)

Participants in this program who have consumed alcohol can simply call a cab to get home, pay the driver, and send the bill to Sawaya Law Firm. The Holiday Cab Program is an effort on the part of our founding attorney, Michael Sawaya, to minimize alcohol-impaired driving, reduce injuries, and save lives of people in our community.

Holiday Cards – Denver School of Arts

The Sawaya Law Firm teamed up with the Denver School of Arts for our annual Holiday Greeting Card Contest. Students in grades 6 through 12 were commissioned by the firm to create artwork for our holiday greeting cards. The theme for the students’ artwork was the historic Bailey Mansion, where our offices are located.

Prizes were awarded for the contest as follows:

  • 1st Place Winner: $125 and artwork on firm holiday greeting cards
  • 2nd Place Winner: $75
  • 3rd Place Winner: $25

Sawaya Values Awards

The Sawaya Values Awards were created to recognize Colorado people who are committed to helping themselves reach their own full potential and helping others in the community to do the same. Our firm strongly believe that by embracing 12 Core Values – Hope, Service, Responsibility, Faith, Honor, Trust, Freedom, Honesty, Integrity, Justice, Truth, and Family – each person should be capable of reaching his or her full potential. We embrace these values on a daily basis in our practice, which enables us to help people piece their lives back together.

Twenty-five Organizations Our Firm Supports

In addition to our own community programs, The Sawaya Law Firm supports a number of charitable organizations that give back to the community. Michael Sawaya is President of the Board of the non-profit organization, Servicios de La Raza. Other organizations The Sawaya Law Firm is proud to sponsor include:

  • Cleo Parker Robinson Dance
  • El Centro Humanitario
  • Su Teatro
  • Escuela Tlateloco
