After working for several years, Clay found the path in which he could most effectively help people and enrolled in law school at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, MN where he was a member of the Negotiations Team and interned at the Albuquerque, NM public Defender’s Office in the summer of 2012.
Upon graduation, Clay moved to his seventh and last state he’ll call home – Colorado. He became a Public Defender for the City of Aurora, CO where he tried 25 jury and nine trials to the court in two years. Clay decided to bring that experience to The Sawaya Law Firm to continue his journey helping those in need.
When he’s not practicing law, Clay enjoys watching Auburn Football, fly fishing, spending time with his wife, dog and friends and exploring all that Colorado has to offer.
