New Opportunities – Servicios de la Raza
On Friday, December 20th Servicios de La Raza hosted a Holiday Luncheon for their dedicated staff, friends and supporters to celebrate their accomplishments. Rudy Gonzales, the Executive Director, has done an excellent job expanding the organization to provide and advocate for culturally responsive essential human services and opportunities. As the President of the board, I am grateful for the leadership Rudy exemplifies and for the dedicated staff.
Servicios de La Raza assists low-income members of the community in overcoming the range of problems that result in a lack of resources and contribute to the perpetuation of the vicious cycle of poverty. The wide range of comprehensive services include: mental health counseling, food and clothing, domestic violence victim advocacy, case management for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS, training and empowering youth and healthcare coverage program education. Please visit www.serviciosdelaraza.org to learn more about this incredible organization.
As 2013 draws near, Servicios de La Raza anticipates the move to a new location in a few months. This space will allow Servicios to continue to expand and better serve the community. I am excited for 2014 and the new opportunities it will bring for everyone!
