Denver School of the Arts- The Sawaya Senior Scholarship Award
The Sawaya Law Firm is proud to sponsor the Sawaya Senior Scholarship Award and partially fund the Anderson Ranch Art Center Scholarship in collaboration with the Denver School of the Arts.
The Sawaya Senior Scholarship is based on the student’s art pieces at the Senior Art Show and by their personal statement highlighting their work. The Senior Art show will be on display at the Space Gallery, 400 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO from Tuesday, April 29th- Friday, May 9th. The selected winner will be honored with a $1,000 scholarship award at the Denver School of the Arts End of Year Celebration on May 23, 2014.
The Anderson Ranch Art Center Scholarship is merit based and presented to 3 Denver School of the Arts junior students. The Anderson Ranch Center is an internationally known art school in Snowmass, CO. The award recipients will have the opportunity to participate in workshops summer long for an in-depth experience, to perfect their skills, or to immerse themselves in a new medium.
The Sawaya Law Firm is proud to team up with the Denver School of the Arts to offer both opportunities. The Denver School of the Arts student’s have participated in the Sawaya Holiday Greeting Card Contest for the past four years. Last year more than 60 pieces of stellar artwork incorporating the Bailey Mansion were submitted. The first place selected winner’s artwork was used for the firm’s annual holiday cards, received $125, an award certificate, and recognition on social media networks.

Michael established The Sawaya Law Firm in 1977 and built it into one of the largest personal injury law firms in Colorado, with more than 20 lawyers and 80 staff members serving clients from five offices located in Denver, Greeley and Colorado Springs. Throughout its history, the firm has stayed true to its 12 Core Values, which emphasize excellence in advocacy and a commitment to providing outstanding client service. Michael studied sociology and economics as an undergraduate student at The Colorado College, and he earned his law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law. In addition to being involved in several legal and community organizations, Michael enjoys playing music and cooking, and he has written a book on spiritual matters.
