April 4, 2014 by The Sawaya Law Firm

Happy opening day Rockies baseball fans!

The Colorado Rockies played their first game on June 6, 1991- Coors Field has been the teams home ever since. You can read the Colorado Rockies full history here: //colorado.rockies.mlb.com/col/history/timeline2.jsp.

On opening day last year, the Rockies attracted nearly 2.8 million fans. We are a couple of hours away for this year’s home game today; Friday, April 4th. The Rockies will play against the Arizona Diamondbacks at 2:10 p.m. You can follow the Denver Post live blog of the game at: //live.denverpost.com/Event/Colorado_Rockies_Home_Opener_2014.

Colorado native, U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Alpine skier Jon Lujan will throw the first pitch. Lujan served in the Marine Corps for nearly eight years. He ruptured two discs in his back while serving in Iraq in 2003. During a surgery to repair the injury, his spinal cord was damaged, forcing him to retire. He is a first-time Paralympian and a four-time national champion skier.
