ACLU - A Night to Remember!

ACLU Table

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Colorado’s goal is to reach out to the public on important issues, to respond to new challenges and to undertake strong, creative, and successful legal, educational and advocacy initiatives. The ACLU is a statewide organization of over 11,000 members, working together to defend, protect and extend the civil rights and civil liberties of all people in Colorado. These goals can only be met with the help of the public as the ACLU is a not-for-profit organization to which contributions are tax-deductible, is supported solely through individual donations. Check out the ACLU’s website for information on their mission, events, and more!

On October 13, 2016, The Sawaya Law Firm was honored to support the ACLU at their annual Bill of Rights Dinner. Senior partners, Michael Sawaya, Richard Rose, Robert Wilhite, and Katie McClure, were in attendance with their families.  Our staff enjoyed raising funds at this inspiring event and are excited to continue to make a difference in Colorado! The evening was filled with important conversations discussing how we can better our Colorado communities and strengthen voting participation.  To find out more about our fundraising activities as a law firm, visit the In Our Community page our Facebook page!

In an effort to encourage our youth to get more involved in their communities and government we have created the Civic Engagement Institute (CEI). Through this program we have empowered our youth to realize the influence they have on their own futures —  If they only get involved and fight the good fight. Through after school programs, and team projects kids a several Denver public schools are finding their passions and understanding the power they have! For more on CEI, click here!
