Chris was born and raised in small town Kansas. After completing high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on board the guided missile cruiser USS ANZIO. Upon being honorably discharged, he moved to Manhattan, Kansas where he intended on using the G.I. Bill to earn a college degree.
Before entering his first semester, he was hired by the Manhattan Fire Department and worked as a firefighter/EMT for several years before resigning from that position to move to Denver and begin his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado. After completing several semesters at CU, Chris transferred to Rutgers University where he completed his degree in political science. Upon graduation, it was back to the University of Kansas for his law degree.
With a law degree and not much more, Chris returned to Denver to pass the bar and find gainful employment. Once admitted to the bar, he worked as an associate at a large defense firm representing doctors and other healthcare professionals in malpractice and licensing issues along with construction companies in defect litigation.
Chris joined Sawaya Law in 2009 and concentrates his practice on representing individuals who have been harmed by the acts of other people, corporations, and insurance companies.
